Sistemul functioneaza deja la scara redusa in Morgantown (West Virginia), Masdar (Abu Dhabi) sau in aeroportul Heathrow din Londra. Implementarea la scara larga, care sa deserveasca un intreg oras, este pe cale sa devina realitate in orasul indian Amistar (provicia Punjab). Estimarile prevad ca sistemul va fi functional in 2014:
